Fortumo Launches Direct Carrier Billing for Turkcell AppMarket

Want to earn more revenue from your apps in the biggest gaming market in the Middle-East? Then we’ve got great news for you! Fortumo has started powering in-app purchasing for Turkcell AppMarket, the app store of the biggest mobile operator in Turkey.

If you’ve already integrated Fortumo, you don’t need to do anything else besides publishing your app in AppMarket. If you aren’t using the Fortumo in-app purchasing SDK yet, get started here.

Turkcell has approximately 35 million subscribers in the country where smartphone penetration is around 35% and growing quickly. According to SuperDataResearch, digital gaming sales reached approximately $520 million in 2013 with carrier billing being one of the most popular methods of paying for such content.

Fortumo carrier billing data also shows Turkish people love to spend their money on mobile entertainment: ARPPU for Android apps in Turkey in August 2014 was around $7.25 - that’s higher than for example in the US ($7.2) or Canada ($6.4).

Fortumo mobile payments work not only in AppMarket and Telenor Apps which we also recently launched: the in-app payment SDK can be used to collect revenue from users without credit cards in dozens of app stores globally. Integrating the SDK once means you will be able to collect money from these stores and any future ones we partner with (hint: we already have several more in the pipeline).

If you’re interested in expanding your payment coverage through carrier billing, please fill out the form below and we will get in touch with you:
