Muslim Kids TV, the world’s leading educational entertainment platform for Muslim families, is today announcing the launch of carrier billing and mobile wallet payments through the mobile technology company Fortumo.

Families can now unlock access to tens of thousands of videos, games, eBooks, and DIYs (Do-It-Yourselves) by charging the payment to their mobile operator bill or deducting it from their mobile wallet balance.

Subscriptions to Muslim Kids TV cost Rp 9,900 (weekly) or Rp 29,000 (monthly) and Rp 199,000 (yearly) and include a free 7-day trial. Consumers can pay for the premium subscription through their mobile operator (XL Axiata, Indosat, Tri, Telkomsel) or through their OVO mobile wallet account balance.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Fortumo to enable consumers to access our unique specialty streaming service for Muslim children. It has always been our goal to offer the best user experience and this includes ease of subscription through the customer’s telco operator. Fortumo is able to connect us with all of the major MNOs and the most progressive mobile financial services that are currently booming in emerging markets hence providing good opportunity to penetrate this segment. The simplicity of implementation, amazing technical support and the one-time technical integration helps the bottom line of our business and we are thankful to Fortumo for understanding this,” states Michael Milo, CEO of Muslim Kids TV.

“Only having credit cards available on checkout is no longer a viable monetization strategy for digital content merchants. Consumer preferences have changed and people are increasingly paying with carrier billing and mobile wallets due to their ease of usage and wider availability. We are excited to launch Muslim Kids TV and support their growth in the South-East Asia region,” added Martin Lips, VP of Business Development at Fortumo.

The country-wide launch of easily accessible payment methods for Muslim Kids TV has been made possible thanks to Fortumo’s Unified SDK. One integration of the Unified SDK enabled Muslim Kids TV to launch in Indonesia across multiple local payment methods like carrier billing and mobile wallet.

Without any additional development work, it will also be possible for the merchant to launch payments in 80+ additional countries that are supported on Fortumo’s platform. Meanwhile, Fortumo manages the consumer checkout flows and their localization on behalf of merchants, making launching payments with Unified SDK quick and scalable for merchants. Additional features of Fortumo’s Unified SDK include:

  • One integration for launching 210+ telcos and 20+ mobile wallets
  • Payments supported on desktop, (mobile) web and inside applications
  • Payment tokenization and dynamic payment value setting capabilities
  • Free trial and discount capabilities
  • User management for recurring payments provided by Fortumo’s Subscription Engine
