Corona Labs Partners with Fortumo to Expand Monetization Opportunities for Android and NOOK® Developers

Corona Labs, the leader in mobile development software, is proud to partner with Fortumo, the most developer-friendly mobile payments provider, to bring easy access to in-app purchasing in 80 countries to Corona SDK’s developer community. Fortumo’s strong expertise in mobile operator billing and its ability to monetize users across many geographic markets will prove a strong addition to the Corona platform.

Fortumo’s functionality can now be used by Corona SDK developers in their apps and games via a Corona Plugin. Corona Plugins allow Corona developers to add new functionality and 3rd party services to their apps with just a few lines of code.

“Fortumo is excited to offer additional monetization solutions to Corona Labs’ thriving community of developers,” says Martin Koppel, COO of Fortumo. “The mobile industry is seeing an explosive growth of in-app transactions and Fortumo allows developers to capitalize on this trend. Developers need to make only one integration to go live with payments in the NOOK Store ™, Google Play and any 3 rd party app stores.”

“There’s an incredible opportunity for developers to generate revenue with Corona-powered apps and games,” says David Rangel, COO of Corona Labs. “Partnering with Fortumo gives our developers an option that performs extremely well across various markets. The addition of NOOK in-app purchases is also highly welcome by a large number of Corona developers that have built popular content for the platform.”

"Fortumo provides excellent flexibility for developers who are looking to monetize their apps. Adding support for billing in apps built with Corona gives developers a simple, frictionless way to start earning additional revenue through in-app purchasing in NOOK Apps ™," said Claudia Romanini, Vice President of NOOK Apps, NOOK Media LLC.
